Tactically Applied Dialectic: Iran "Replicated" Israeli Missile Technology - Trump Tweet: "Destroy Iranian Boats"

Ed.'s note: We have some interesting developments underway here regarding Iran with Iran claiming it has "replicated" Israeli missile technology to "take on its most hated enemy." That hated enemy of course being the "Zionist regime" when in reality most Iranians could care less about Israel. This while US President Trump tweets that he "ordered the US Navy to destroy Iranian boats." The first thing to recognize with stories like this is to understand military intelligence works through the media of respective countries. In this case, The Jerusalem Post in Israel and NBC News in the US. If you were in the Iranian military would you broadcast to the world your "indigenous missile technology" like a television advertisement? No, of course you wouldn't. But if Iran did acquire some new missile technology where did it come from?

News update for 25 April 2020 (the dialectic continues to play out): U.S. Calls On EU To Put Sanctions On Iranians Developing Missile Program

It probably came from the Israelis themselves passed off to Iranian operatives in Switzerland where the Israeli and Iranian elite all have their Zurich bank accounts located. Then the Israelis can announce the Iranians have "a new missile capability threat" that Israel reacts to as we see in this article. Trump threatens Iranian boats and we are back in business. What we see here is probably coordinated activity between President Trump's handlers and the Israelis on Iran threatening Israel again. The US-Iranian dialectic being tactically applied by Israel. Think of the upside to a possible war with Iran: increase in the price of oil.

Why is Iran bragging about 'replicating' an Israeli missile?

Why would a country that prides itself on its indigenous missile technology also claim to be copying its most hated enemy, the "Zionist regime?"

Iran's media bragged on Monday that it reportedly "replicated" an Israeli anti-tank missile. At the same time Iran claims it is now among the best countries in the world in terms of missile innovation. Why would a country that prides itself on its indigenous missile technology also claim to be copying its most hated enemy, the "Zionist regime?"

First, Iran didn't want to admit these claims itself. In the way things are done in the Middle East this report was ascribed to a Russian news outlet so Iran didn't have to report it from local sources. But even laundered from the Russians. "A Russian aviation news outlet says Iran may have replicated an Israeli missile that was shot down in Syria," Press TV claims. Iran's Tasnim media then goes on to assert that it has now tested this "new Iranian anti-tank missile."

One can see how Iran helped create this story by noting that Iran's media, quoting the Russians, then quotes Iranian sources as having been the source of part of this story. "Avia.Pro [The Russian site] quoted experts as saying that Iran may use Israeli missiles against Tel Aviv itself," Press TV notes. So this is Tehran’s real narrative, that it will use Israeli technology against Israel. Iran has done this in the past with the Americans, claiming to jam and bring down a US RQ-170 Sentinel drone in 2011.

Iran then made a drone that looked like a US Sentinel, basically a kind of flying wing. Iran called this the Saeqeh which it has flown since 2014. Iran also built another model based on the Americans, called a Shahed 171. An investigation by Wim Zwijnenbrg at the website Bellingcat noted the similarities. It also noted that this Iranian copy was the same style drone that Iran flew into Israeli airspace in February 2018 that Israel shot down with an Apache helicopter. Iran also copied the US Predator drone to create the Shahed 129 and used a crashed US Scan Eagle drone to design its Qods Yasir UAV.

Trump tweets order to 'destroy' Iranian boats. Pentagon calls it a warning.

Three U.S. defense officials said they were caught off guard by Trump's tweet because he had not ordered a change in policy.

President Donald Trump announced Wednesday that he had directed the Navy to "shoot down" Iranian gunboats that harass U.S. ships, but Pentagon officials said they had received no new directives.

Trump created a stir when he made the announcement via Twitter just after 8 a.m. "I have instructed the United States Navy to shoot down and destroy any and all Iranian gunboats if they harass our ships at sea," he wrote.

The tweet came on the morning Iran launched a military satellite and a week after the Pentagon accused Iranian vessels of harassing U.S. ships in the Persian Gulf.

Three U.S. defense officials told NBC News they were caught off guard by the tweet because the president had not ordered a change in the policy or rules of engagement. One official compared it to his 2017 tweets announcing a surprise ban on transgender people openly serving in the military.

At a press briefing a few hours after the president's announcement, Defense Department officials characterized it as more of a warning to Iran than a shift in policy.

"What he was emphasizing is all of our ships retain the right of self-defense, and people need to be very careful in their interactions to understand the inherent right of self-defense," said Deputy Defense Secretary David Norquist.
