How America Went From Mom-and-Pop Capitalism to Techno-Feudalism

Editor's note: This is the result of America becoming an oligarchy where psychopaths are the arbiters of who gets the money and who doesn't. And now that the central banks and financial institutions are fornicating with the technocrats our problems are compounded beyond comprehension. It begins by understanding digital replacing the biological.

The crisis of 2020 has created the greatest wealth gap in history. The middle class, capitalism and democracy are all under threat. What went wrong and what can be done?

In a matter of decades, the United States has gone from a largely benign form of capitalism to a neo-feudal form that has created an ever-widening gap in wealth and power. In his 2013 bestseller Capital in the 21st Century, French economist Thomas Piketty declared that "the level of inequality in the US is probably higher than in any other society at any time in the past anywhere in the world." In a 2014 podcast about the book, Bill Moyers commented:
Here's one of its extraordinary insights: We are now really all headed into a future dominated by inherited wealth, as capital is concentrated in fewer and fewer hands, giving the very rich ever greater power over politics, government and society. Patrimonial capitalism is the name for it, and it has potentially terrifying consequences for democracy.

A Tale of Two Empires: the Old and the New

Written by Jeff Nielson | Bullion Bulls Canada  | 12 July 2016

One empire builds, the other empire destroys. It is as simple as that. In the corrupt and decaying Western Empire, we see only destruction: the destruction of economies; the destruction of societies; the destruction of nations. It is an empire created by the oligarchs of the Banking Crime Syndicate, for the oligarchs. Its one agenda is raping and pillaging. The raping and pillaging always and exclusively serves one of two purposes: stealing more wealth, or extending/consolidating the oligarchs' political control.

No one understands derivatives. How many times have readers heard that thought expressed (please round off to the nearest thousand)? Why does no one understand derivatives? For many, the answer to that question is that they have simply been thinking too hard. For others, the answer is that they don't think at all.

09 July 2015 Jeff Nielson (Bullion Bulls Canada)

Most readers are familiar with the colloquial definition of insanity: repeating a (failed) policy/plan, but expecting a different outcome. Then we have the International Monetary Fund: it makes a mistake, explains that mistake to the entire world (twice), but still keeps repeating that same mistake, year after year – (supposedly) expecting a different outcome.

How American Corporations and the Super-Rich Steal From the Rest of Us

Main Street is going broke. Wall Street is cashing in.

By Paul Buchheit / AlterNet
December 28, 2014

The Merriam-Webster definition of 'steal' is to take the property of another wrongfully and especially as a habitual or regular practice. Much of our country's new wealth has been regularly taken by individuals or corporations in a wrongful manner, either through nonpayment of taxes or failure to compensate other contributors to their successes.

The End of Capitalism

by Anthony Migchels

November 13, 2009

In these days of upheaval and transition, it is more important than ever to have a clear understanding of what we are talking about. The opposition is very skilled at playing with language and creating holes in linguistic concepts, blurring our vision of reality.

A good example is "inflation". Many people nowadays seem to think that inflation means "rising prices"; however, inflation means a growing money supply.

Because of this misunderstanding, you often read things like "inflation dangers because of rising oil prices" – a totally ridiculous statement without any economic relevance, but understandable when one realizes how our language is being willfully corrupted.

The Hubris of Trying to Eliminate Cash

People like hard currency and use it every day. It is a check on centralized power. It is private and peer-to-peer. And despite or because of that, some want to get rid of it.

Conor Friedersdorf Jun 6 2014

While investigating Bitcoin, Antonis Polemitis once poked fun by imagining how the media would react to the introduction of cash. He titled his parody, "Bizarre Shadowy Paper-Based Payment System Being Rolled Out Worldwide." Cash has been dubbed "bills" among "the shadowy community of anti-banking libertarians who have been the primary users of cash to date," the article explains, and "though hard to imagine, cash operates with no consumer protection at all. If your ‘bills’ are stolen or lost, they are gone forever."

The Basel Accords Demystified - Massive Regulatory Failures - Unelected, Unaccountable International Bankers Impose an Immense and Unnecessary Burden - Reform Money and Finance for the Good of All

THE MONEY MASTERS impose

BASEL I, II & III on an unsuspecting world

Central bankers’ Basel III scheme will worsen worldwide recession

BASEL I. In 1988, a faceless, unelected group of bankers met in Basel, Switzerland at the Bank for International Settlements (“BIS”) – the “central bankers’ bank” which even Swiss authorities may not enter – and in their “Basel I Accord” agreed to a set of minimum capital requirements (8%) for banks. This was a number fine for some banks, but higher than what was in place for French and especially Japanese banks. To raise more capital to reach the 8% level, French and Japanese banks had to reduce loans, causing a recession in France and a depression in Japan, one from which Japan has never fully recovered.

A SHORT HISTORY OF BANKING

Source: The Heretical Press

In the old days, there was no paper money. The accepted token of exchange was precious metal minted into coins by the Church and the Crown. Because there was only a limited amount of gold and silver available, the economic life of the nation had a certain regularity.

An even greater restriction existed throughout Christendom. This was a prohibition against usury, or charging interest. The Church held it to be a grave sin and the code was upheld by the civil powers. There were harsh penalties for those who broke the law.

Lysander Spooner on the National Debt

by Sheldon Richman

Once again, last autumn we were inundated with dire warnings about what would befall the American people and the world economy if Congress did not raise the debt ceiling – or, as I call it, the debt sky, because apparently the sky’s the limit.

Too-Big-To-Fail (Now) = Too Big To Jail

Written by Jeff Nielson
Sunday, 10 March 2013

A few years ago I wrote a piece entitled Why Too Big To Fail = Too Big To Exist with respect to the Wall Street banking oligopoly and its “friends” in other bankster-dominated Western regimes. This week U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder demonstrated the truth of that proposition by asserting that these criminal-banks were now “too big to prosecute”.

Translation: he, and the rest of the Justice Department, are refusing to perform their sworn duties and uphold the Rule of Law in the United States because it’s inconvenient. Outrageous.

The One Bank

Written by Jeff Nielson
Sunday, 21 July 2013

In 1980, in an infamous episode of American Justice, the Hunt Brothers were charged (and convicted) with attempting to “corner the silver market” – i.e. an attempt to monopolize it. At the time prosecution commenced, the Hunt Brothers had only managed to acquire less than 20% of total global inventories.

Nonetheless, given the strict provisions of our antitrust laws, this was a violation. In this one (relatively tiny) market, even a 20% concentration by a single entity is considered unacceptable. But that was when our governments were less corrupt, and still enforced these laws on at least a semi-regular basis.

Flash ahead to 2013, and readers of my previous commentary were presented with the earth-shattering findings of a trio of Swiss researchers:
In detail, nearly 4/10 of the control over the economic value of [all transnational corporations] in the world is held, via a complicated web of ownership relations, by a group of 147 [transnational corporations] in the core, which has almost full control over itself. The top holders within the core can thus be thought of as an economic “super-entity” in the global network of corporations. A relevant additional fact at this point is that ¾ of the core are financial intermediaries. [emphasis mine]
Looking into our circumstances...
