President Trump Revokes WHO Funding - "Covering For China" - China Covets Taiwan's High Tech Sector

Ed.'s note: The criminally negligent WHO just had its funding source cut off from the US, well maybe depending on the US congress. China basically runs the UN having a powerful influence there, so it is no surprise that WHO acted as a mouthpiece for the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). It was because of China's pressure that Taiwan was prevented from being an observer at the UN. That political pressure exerted on Taiwan by China has also prevented Taiwan from becoming a member state of WHO. Taiwanese journalists have also been barred from attending UN and WHO meetings. It turns out Taiwan's response to the coronascam has been far beyond the reproach of other countries. Evidence as to just how much influence China has over the UN and WHO, was covered by the Washington Examiner in their April 10, 2020 article. The real issue here with China and Taiwan, is China coveting Taiwan's highly advanced technology sector in microprocessors and machine tooling. Even the brainy wonks at the Brookings Institute don't seem to get this important point very well. Taiwan is the "tool shed" for all future high tech industrial revolution.

This seems to be very favorable news for America as US and Japan firms continue pulling their companies out of China. The US must work even harder at keeping sensitive technology out of China as this major economic unraveling becomes nastier. We have already pointed out how WHO is not an organization meant to protect the public from pandemics but as a RICO organization behind a "derivatives ticking time bomb." WHO is a corporation with a history of fraud, waste and abuse operating in a culture of corruption. President Trump made the right decision: defund WHO. The next step is to revoke its corporate status.  Time for the hundreds of saprophytes employed at WHO to start looking for work like the rest of us.

Trump halts US funding for World Health Organization as it conducts coronavirus review

• The U.S. will suspend funding to the World Health Organization while it reviews the agency's response to the Covid-19 pandemic, President Donald Trump announced.

• It's unclear exactly what mechanism Trump intends to use to withhold WHO funding, much of which is appropriated by Congress.

The U.S. will suspend funding to the World Health Organization while it reviews the agency's response to the Covid-19 pandemic, President Donald Trump announced Tuesday, saying the international health agency made mistakes that "caused so much death" as the coronavirus spread across the globe. "Today I’m instructing my administration to halt funding of the World Health Organization while a review is conducted to assess the World Health Organization's role in severely mismanaging and covering up the spread of the coronavirus," Trump said at a White House press conference.

Trump criticized the international agency's response to the outbreak, saying "one of the most dangerous and costly decisions from the WHO was its disastrous decision to oppose travel restrictions from China and other nations" that Trump imposed early on in the outbreak.

"Fortunately, I was not convinced and suspended travel from China saving untold numbers of lives," he said.

It’s unclear exactly what mechanism Trump intends to use to withhold WHO funding, much of which is appropriated by Congress. The president typically does not have the authority to unilaterally redirect congressional funding.

One option might be for Trump to use powers granted to the president under the Impoundment Control Act of 1974. Under this statute, the president may propose to withhold congressional funds, but it requires congressional approval within 45 days. Absent this approval, the funds must be returned to their original, congressionally mandated purpose after 45 days.

When asked by reporters why the administration is choosing now to withhold funds, Trump said the U.S. has had problems with WHO "for years" and the nation should have done this "a long time ago."
