Crypto AG and Israel - CIA and the German BND In On the Eavesdropping - Switzerland Is a "Neutral Country" - Rubicon (Minerva)

Ed.'s note: The surveillance is still going only now it is cybersecurity with companies that have broken off from Crypto AG. We've known about Crypto AG going back to an essay written by the now deceased Orlin Grabbe when he wrote about the encryption machine company located in Switzerland. Israel's ability to crack the Iranian Crypto AG ("secret Siemens daughter") codes indicates that Israel had access to the key decoding programs on these encryption machines. Most of the users of Crypto AG turns out to be Swiss banks so that the banks can keep track of money flows. Crypto AG has been broken up into smaller cybersecurity companies.

The ramifications here are clear: intelligence collected through Crypto AG would know what the direction of countries and its leaders would take for the past 70 years. The official code name was "Rubicon" and involved such activities as remote penetration of radio communications, of landlines, and more recently - of cellular phones. It included tracing phones and listening in on calls. The targets included politicians, senior government officials, members of the military and ambassadors. All critical positions inside respective governments. In a nutshell: knowledge is power. What country would benefit most from this surveillance? Most likely Israel.

Crypto AG, the CIA - and the uncomfortable truth about Huawei

FOR AT LEAST HALF A CENTURY, THE US HAS BEEN INTERCEPTING AND DECRYPTING THE TOP SECRET DOCUMENTS OF MOST OF THE WORLD'S GOVERNMENTS

What we see over and over again are many Jewish people, this time William F. Friedman, with their origins traced back to Russia who are connected to intelligence and Israel. William F. Friedman who changed his name when his family arrived in Pennsylvania from Budapest, was born in Chişinău, Bessarabia, that was part of the Russian empire. Friedman became the chief cryptologist for the National Security Agency (NSA) when it was formed in 1952. Friedman was known as the "Dean of American Cryptology." In 1955, Friedman initiated on behalf of the NSA, a secret agreement with the company Crypto AG. Friedman has the distinction of having one of the longest known suppressed patent applications for the U.S. Patent 6,097,812, a patent for a "cryptographic system". It was filed on July 25, 1933 and issued on August 1, 2000. Friedman like many Jews have been obsessed with numerology and cryptology for centuries. Friedman ends up inside the NSA from the very beginning of the NSA's creation in 1952.

The gentleman's agreement - Secret deal between the NSA and Hagelin · 1939-1969

It can now be stated that Israel was the biggest benefactor of Crypto AG going all the way back to William F. Friedman who had control over the encryption machines that were designed by the Swedish engineer and inventor Boris Hagelin. In 1993, the German BND opted out of Operation RUBICON (don't infringe on the Greater Israel Project; do not cross the rubicon) and sold its shares to the CIA on June 30, 1994. After this, the CIA ran the company until February, 2018 when the assets were sold to Crypto Schweiz AG (now CyOne Security) and Crypto International AG. The George C. Marshall Foundation is where William F. Friedman's papers are archived and the Marshall Foundation has a long history of supporting Israel. An interesting line of inquiry would be to see if there are any connections between Crypto AG and the Israeli attack on the US Naval communications vessel the USS Liberty on 8 June 1967. All of Friedman's archives would have to be gone through at the Marshall Foundation to see his views or connections to Israel while he was at the NSA. Another line of inquiry would be to determine any possible connections between the murder of U.S. Secretary of Defense, James Forrestal and Crypto AG in regards to James Forrestal's opposition to the creation of the state of Israel.

From the very beginning of the NSA by inference we can now see how Israel has been able to collect intelligence it required to become the regional power it has since its creation in 1947. Israel has become the "sixth eye" to establish itself today as the technologically-driven "startup nation." Coded in this image below of the first class of US Army personnel trained encryptionists in 1918 by Willam F. Friedman is "knowledge is power." Can you decode it? One hundred years after this coded image was taken, Israel's Benjamin Netanyahu was quoted as saying: "Cyber is the real domain of power." Actually, when the picture was taken, Friedman didn't have the required 80 people he needed to finish the last letter "r" in the phrase so it came out to "knowledge is powe."

How the CIA and Israel Eavesdropped on Every EU Government From the 1970s to Today (FTN Podcast, Audio + Transcript)

By Jazzhands McFeels James Allsup | Wednesday, April 22, 2020

Another great deep-dive. Turns out that a Swiss company which provided encryption services to most of the governments of the world for over 40 years was a CIA front, and surprise, surprise, set up by Jews, and gave privileged access to Israel.

From the FTN Website:
Crypto AG, got its first break with a contract to build code-making machines during World War II. Flush with cash from secret investors, it became a dominant maker of encryption devices for decades, making millions of dollars selling equipment to more than 120 countries well into the 21st century. Its clients included Iran, military juntas in Latin America, nuclear rivals India and Pakistan, and even the Vatican.

What no one knew until now was that Crypto AG was front owned by the CIA, and for a time, German intelligence. They rigged the company's devices so they could break codes that countries used to send encrypted messages on the devices Crypto sold them.

Jazz and James dig into Crypto AG in this clip.

NSA, Crypto AG, and the Iraq-Iran Conflict

by J. Orlin Grabbe

One of the dirty little secrets of the 1980s is that the U.S. regularly provided Iraq's Saddam Hussein with top-secret communication intercepts by the U.S. National Security Agency (NSA). Consider the evidence.

When in 1991 the government of Kuwait paid the public relations firm of Hill & Knowlton ten million dollars to drum up American war fever against the evil dictator Hussein, it brought about the end of a long legacy of cooperation between the U.S. and Iraq. Hill & Knowlton resurrected the World War I propaganda story about German soldiers roasting Belgian babies on bayonets, updated in the form of a confidential witness (actually the daughter of the Kuwaiti ambassador to the U.S.) who told Congress a tearful story of Iraqi soldiers taking Kuwaiti babies out of incubators and leaving them on the cold floor to die. President George Bush then repeated this fabricated tale in speeches ten times over the next three days.

What is remarkable about this staged turn of events is that, until then, Hussein had operated largely with U.S. approval. This cooperation had spanned three successive administrations, starting with Jimmy Carter. As noted by John R. MacArthur, "From 1980 to 1988, Hussein had shouldered the burden of killing about 150,000 Iranians, in addition to at least thirteen thousand of his own citizens, including several thousand unarmed Kurdish civilians, and in the process won the admiration and support of elements of three successive U.S. Administrations" [1].

Hussein's artful slaughter of Iranians was aided by good military intelligence. The role of NSA in the conflict is an open secret in Europe, the Middle East, and Asia. Only in this country has there been a relative news blackout, despite the fact that it was the U.S. administration that let the crypto cat out of the bag.

First, U.S. President Ronald Reagan informed the world on national television that the United States was reading Libyan communications. This admission was part of a speech justifying the retaliatory bombing of Libya for its alleged involvement in the La Belle discotheque bombing in Berlin's Schoeneberg district, where two U.S. soldiers and a Turkish woman were killed, and 200 others injured. Reagan wasn't talking about American monitoring of Libyan news broadcasts. Rather, his "direct, precise, and undeniable proof" referred to secret (encrypted) diplomatic communication between Tripoli and the Libyan embassy in East Berlin.

Next, this leak was compounded by the U.S. demonstration that it was also reading secret Iranian communications. As reported in Switzerland's Neue Zurcher Zeitung, the U.S. provided the contents of encrypted Iranian messages to France to assist in the conviction of Ali Vakili Rad and Massoud Hendi for the stabbing death in the Paris suburb of Suresnes of the former Iranian prime minister Shahpour Bakhtiar and his personal secretary Katibeh Fallouch. [2]

What these two countries had in common was they had both purchased cryptographic communication equipment from the Swiss firm Crypto AG. Crypto AG was founded in 1952 by the (Russian-born) Swedish cryptographer Boris Hagelin who located his company in Zug. Boris had created the "Hagelin-machine", a encryption device similar to the German "Enigma". The Hagelin machine was used on the side of the Allies in World War II.

Crypto AG was an old and venerable firm, and Switzerland was a neutral country. So Crypto AG's enciphering devices for voice communication and digital data networks were popular, and customers came from 130 countries. These included the Vatican, as well the governments of Iraq, Iran, and Libya. Such countries were naturally skeptical of cryptographic devices sold in many NATO countries, so turned to relatively neutral Switzerland for communication security.

Iran demonstrated its suspicion about the source of the leaks, when it arrested Hans Buehler, a top salesman for Crypto AG, in Teheran on March 18, 1992. During his nine and a half months of solitary confinement in Evin prison in Teheran, Buehler was questioned again and again whether he had leaked Teheran's codes or Libya's keys to Western powers. Luckily Buehler didn't know anything. He in fact believed in his own sales pitch that Crypto AG was a neutral company and its equipment was the best. They were Swiss, after all. [3]

Crypto AG eventually paid one million dollars for Buehler's release in January 1993, then promptly fired him once they had reassured themselves that he hadn't revealed anything important under interrogation, and because Buehler had begun to ask some embarrassing questions. Then reports appeared on Swiss television, Swiss Radio International, all the major Swiss papers, and in German magazines like Der Spiegel. Had Crypto AG's equipment been spiked by Western intelligence services? the media wanted to know. The answer was Yes [4].

Swiss television traced the ownership of Crypto AG to a company in Liechtenstein, and from there back to a trust company in Munich. A witness appearing on Swiss television explained the real owner was the German government--the Federal Estates Administration. [5]
