Japan's Crown Princess Kiko has not been well since late last year and is unable to eat normal meals, the Imperial Household Agency said.
The 57-year-old wife of Crown Prince Fumihito has been consulting her doctor and has tested negative for COVID-19 and influenza.
As the cause of her poor condition is still unknown, the agency is considering arranging a detailed checkup for her.
