Why Is the IRS Stockpiling Weapons and Ammunition?

Editor's note: In 2019 the IRS was on record as having in stock 4,500 guns and an estimated 5 million rounds of various ammunition. Some of these IRS-owned guns are fully automatic weapons. The IRS states that only agents in the IRS's Criminal Investigation Division get to carry weapons. When IRS agents show up on your doorstep with automatic weapons pointed at you use the 5th Amendment and refuse to incriminate yourself. Is that even possible with a gun pointed at you? Senior management of the IRS are vetted by the Senior Executive Service (SES). This means Rep. Matt Gaetz is going up against the deeply entrenched SES bureaucratic army.

Congressman Matt Gaetz Introduces 'Disarm the IRS Act'

Washington, D.C. — Today, U.S. Congressman Matt Gaetz (FL-01), along with Reps. Jeff Duncan (SC-03), Paul Gosar (AZ-04), and Marjorie Taylor Greene (GA-14), introduced the “Disarm the IRS Act” of 2022, prohibiting the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) from acquiring, by purchase or otherwise, any ammunition after the bill’s enactment.

Rep. Gaetz joined Jesse Watters Primetime on Fox News last week to expose the IRS's recent extraordinary purchase of $725,000 worth of ammunition and discussed its implications.
