Russia Under Vladimir Putin Just Completely Nuked the Green Agenda

Editor's note: There are few people in the west who know that Russia's Vladimir Putin has a PhD in economics. But not just a Phd in economics but a PhD in energy economics. What this means is that the Russian central bank has been brought back under the control of the state to benefit the people of Russia including the gas sector. Vladimir Putin's degree of kandidat ekonomicheskikh nauk was the topic of "strategic planning in the resource sector" that also included gas and oil. Putin was a Lt. Col. in the Russian KGB and later set the energy policy (see The Power of Siberia) of Russia. He is considered an "energy expert" and is said Vladimir Putin "understands the energy industry better than anyone else." This explains why Germany's ex-Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder is back in Moscow talking with Putin. It is anyone's guess what they are discussing but one thing can be certain: this is the end of the entire green agenda centering in Germany. With Russia's leadership under Vladimir Putin, Russia just completely nuked the green agenda, so shove your electric cars up your butts sideways and say hello to internal combustion engines with technological upgrades.

The Putin Thesis and Russian Energy Policy

Abstract

A specialist on Russian politics and society analyzes Russian President Vladimir Putin's academic work on mineral resources in the Russian economy. Mr. Putin defended a kandidat dissertation in economics and subsequently published an article outlining his view of the appropriate role of the Russian state, and of vertically integrated financial-industrial groups, in the mineral resource sector, and particularly in the oil and gas industry. Connections are drawn between the views expressed in Mr. Putin's publications and policy during his second presidential term.
