SEOUL, SOUTH KOREA — Japan's former prime minister, Shinzo Abe, was shot in the chest during a speech Friday ahead of Sunday's upper house election, according to the country's state broadcaster NHK.
Abe, who was speaking at a campaign event near a train station in the capital of Nara prefecture, collapsed and was bleeding after being shot by an unidentified man, NHK reported.

Prime ministers (UK's Johnson) and ex-prime minsters aren't too popular these turbulent days...apparently, a disgruntled ex-military type shot Shinzo Abe from behind with a homemade shotgun type of device. This kind of violence does not happen in Japan and in extremely rare cases when it does the Japanese do not know how to react, what their senses just registered or what to do including security.
