Policy choices are destroying the state of California

Editor's note: This is not acceptable. Maybe more Californians should rebel by leaving the state? If you live in the once "Golden State" be prepared to pay more in taxes (including a tax on driving per mile) that can be used to take care of undocumented migrant's healthcare needs. Californians are paying huge levels of taxes and many people simply cannot afford to rent there anymore. When is the Communist Nomenklatura Newsom going to be recalled by the citizens of California? Newsom isn't a "progressive" or a "liberal." His entire persona is fake. Why does it seem as though the world is rigged with the worst amongst us like Newsom despite his lack of morality achieving extraordinary power? Those who seek to exploit, dominate and deceive rise to the top like Newsom in this predator and prey ecosphere. Is this sustainable and will Newsom ultimately fall (see Dems and Blob Together)? Slave morality allows the ruthless to rise to the top.

California Spent Nearly $10B on Migrant Health Care

March 7, 2025 By Martin Armstrong

California has the largest deficit in the nation under FAILED Governor Gavin Newsom. California Legislature's budget set the figure at $46.8 billion, while the Legislative Analyst's Office (LAO) believes the deficit is an astounding $68 billion. State revenue is on the decline. Businesses and citizens alike have fled Newsom's oppressive taxes. The government continues to create endless spending packages that do not benefit Californians. A recent report revealed a source of California's woes—migrant health care.

"In the current year, to cover undocumented individuals in Medi-Cal, we're spending $9.5 billion total funds," replied a CDOF official, who said $8.4 billion of that comes from the state's general fund. Hospitals do not turn patients away and non-taxpaying, non-citizens, are taking advantage of the health care system that is struggling to maintain the new surplus of patients.

Martin Luther King Jr. Community Hospital CEO Dr. Elaine Batchlor noted that state funding projected around 30,000 patients annually to her 30-bed emergency room department. By 2023, that figure quadrupled with 76% of patients being on Medi-Cal. "We lose money on every one of those patient visits—a significant amount," said Batchelor in a statement. "As the volume grew and continues to grow, we began to lose more and more money."

The state is spending nearly $10 BILLION on health care costs for migrants at the expense of Californians who are already facing record-high taxation. All of these proposed state budgets were estimated before the wildfires. California Budget and Policy Center stated federal spending in California is estimated to be $171 billion this fiscal year, which is over one-third of the total $493 billion state and federal budget for the state. Again, they did not factor in the cost of rebuilding after the devastating fires.

Governor Newsom recently allocated $25 million to fight the Department of Justice to ensure migrants could continue to leech off of his constituents. Newsom would like to turn California into a sanctuary state for all migrants. His policies are the precise reason that capital is fleeing the state. He expanded Medi-Cal to include illegal migrants, with an expected 700,000 new beneficiaries. The Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR) believed the total cost to subsidize migrants was $31 billion annually as of 2023, but the true cost is far higher.

Virtue signaling is expensive. California's state budget has exploded in the past five years, increasing by 63% to over $200 billion. In comparison, Florida's budget increased by half that amount. I personally read through the LAO's proposed budget for FY25-26. The report concluded that California is looking at "double-digit operating deficits in the years to come" as a result of reckless government spending. Again, this was BEFORE the wildfires!

Spending growth from 2025-26 to 2028-29 is 5.8%, above the average of 3.5%. Growth over the same period is just above 4%, "lower than its historical average largely due to policy choices that end during the forecast window. Taken together, we view it as unlikely that revenue growth will be fast enough to catch up to ongoing spending."

The LAO clearly stated that GOVERNMENT SPENDING is destroying the state. The LAO suggests: "Legislature would need to address in the coming years, for example, by reducing spending, increasing taxes, shifting costs, or using more reserves. The magnitude of these deficits also indicates that, without other changes to spending or revenues, the state does not have capacity for new commitments."

Newsom will continue to spend to spite the GOP. He does not know how to manage California's once bolstering economy and is damaging national GDP through his brain-dead policies that help absolutely no one. Despite all his social programs, crime is through the roof and homelessness is rampant. He is prepared to continually tax his constituents and anyone who dares to conduct business in California.

GET THE HELL OUT OF CALIFORNIA OR PREPARE TO PAY FOR FAILED BLUE POLICIES!!
