3D Printed Food For the Space Economy

Editor's note: 3D printing will be used in space as the "breakaway civilization" moves the economy into space. We guess there will be no "nature" in space to source food from as the space economy expands. This will necessitate some remaking of "food" including using mixed waste products and bacteria to 3D print food. There will be no traditions and culture of food in space except bland 3D printed food sourced from mixed waste material. What are space travelers supposed to eat? Grilled steaks?

DARPA seeks 'top chef' for 3D printed food

The Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency wants ideas for turning cellular biomass into safe, visually appealing, edible and palatable food that can support the military and civilians when traditional food is unavailable.

The Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency is inviting small-business innovators to submit ideas for turning cellular biomass created through its ReSource program into safe, visually appealing, edible and palatable food that can support the military and civilians when traditional food is unavailable.

DARPA's ReSource program aims to engineer versatile, durable systems that use local feedstock and mixed waste to rapidly produce a wide range of on-demand products, ranging from potable water and "edible macronutrient" to lubricants, adhesives and tactical fibers to support expeditionary units and humanitarian relief operations.

Announced Nov. 23, the Innovative Nutritional Formulations program aims to turn edible biomass into palatable food rations at scale under austere conditions for disaster relief, as a backup food supply for submarines and aircraft carriers and to supplement vulnerable supply lines. Besides delivering sufficient calories, vitamins and nutrition for those in inaccessible locations, the program aims to reduce the military infrastructure's carbon footprint, maximize on-site resources and develop ways to generate materials in the field.

The food will be evaluated for safety and its taste profile, though DARPA says the product should be assessed through chemical analysis, rather than by actually eating it. It must also meet nutritional needs of various populations and have a long shelf life, whether the biomass and final products are intended for a small population in a remote location or warfighters on a ship where it can be stored under controlled temperatures and humidity.

DARPA wants to reduce vaccinations using gene therapy development down to 60 days. What do they plan to do? Vaccinate aliens? DARPA also had a man in Wuhan. What was he doing? Learning how to build vaccines for aliens or learning how to 3D print Chinese food?

3D printing technology will be required in space so DARPA launches its first space manufacturing test project:

Moving the economy into space:

The Italians are along for the ride into space too so they can participate in the space economy. How about some 3D printed pasta on the world's first commercial space station? Do these astronauts get the full compliment of Covid injections including boosters or are they exempt? Space settlement will require a whole lot of 3D printed food.

BlackRock goes into space:

And the "breakaway civilization" that is likely already in space will need some serious fire power for future space wars with crews chowing down on 3D printed space food before battles with aliens and blasting rogue asteroids (including asteroid mining) onto different trajectories.

Satellites will have to be relocated deeper into space as the space economy expands. Will likely be a lot of hungry space crews nourished on 3D printed food while the robots will require powering up every 24 hours.

Look up into the night sky? What do you see? Sure all those twinkling stars up there aren't satellites?

DARPA is into motherships:

Klaus Schwab's outfit the WEF has its foot print all over the space economy. What does the space economy have to do with the "Fourth Industrial Revolution" and the "Great Reset?" Are these clowns going to bring central banking into space?

That's a lot of hardware orbiting around out there...
