Rep. Marilyn Strickland's approach to Russia...

Editor's more: ...and the war in Ukraine exposes a striking lack of foreign-policy competence. She doesn't belong in the position she is holding. She is unqualified to hold office. Her public record relies almost entirely on recycled ignorant party talking points about "democracy" and "standing with allies," with little evidence she comprehends Russia's strategic motives. Is this who Strickland is concerned about? The "European little pigs" ("European swine") as Europe is sinking into oblivion? She has no concept of what war would mean and how Russia is waging war in Ukraine (the land of "ethnic cleansing"). Rather than demonstrating command of geopolitics, deterrence, escalation risks, competence, or realistic endgames, Strickland defaults to idiotic moral slogans that require no expertise and offers no strategy. In a conflict that demands serious analytical rigor, Strickland's (yeah right, a previous Starbucks manager and a masters degree in business) contributions read as superficial messaging, not informed leadership. She is negligent in her responsibilities and the stakes that are involved.
