Paris is burning. Again. Cars torched. Historic town halls reduced to ash. Shops looted from Marseille to Lyon. Curfews slapped on neighborhoods while politicians blame "ultraleft" agitators and criminals. Missouri Sen. Eric Schmitt looked at the footage and said the quiet part out loud to Fox News Digital.
That is not hyperbole from a campaign trail. It is the logical endpoint of open borders, massive welfare transfers, and a political class that treats disorder as a feature rather than a bug. France spent decades importing the third world while expanding the welfare state until public services cracked under the weight.
Student protests over crumbling schools and teacher shortages metastasized into nationwide riots over living costs and fuel prices near €2.20 a liter. When the bill for endless redistribution comes due, the streets burn. Schmitt is simply noting that America’s own Democratic Socialists have studied the model and like what they see.

France's own far-left La France Insoumise, led by Jean-Luc Mélenchon, maintains open ties to the DSA. After Mamdani's victory, an LFI lawmaker called the American socialists "our American counterparts." Macron's government has pointed at LFI for helping turn protests into challenges against the republican order.
The pattern is not coincidence.
