The Ancient Military Practice of War Trophies

Editor's note: The exhibition of captured foreign military equipment is set to open on May 1st at the Patriot Park in Moscow. The Russian military are building up quite a large stockpile of war trophies including American Abrams tanks, Bradley infantry fighting vehicles, M777 Howitzers and MRAPs all the way from Oshkosh, German Leopard tanks and a large assortment of foreign fighting vehicles. The Russians continue to destroy US-made ATACMS missiles the Ukrainians target Crimea with. It is worth noting that when Russia captures this foreign military equipment in Ukraine and transports it back to Russia, the western media will say "Russia flaunts war trophies." If the Ukrainains remove Russian military equpiment the western media claims the equipment is "captured."

Looks like a good day out in Moscow for Russian families...

The Russians have also captured likely hundreds if not thousands of assorted weapons like the NLAW and Javelin portable anti-tank missile systems, the Stinger portable anti-aircraft missile system, small arms, grenades and US-made assault rifles in Russia's "special operation zone":

Here is an interesting speciman of a war trophy:

Analysts are rightly asking how much of this lethal aid will be destroyed or captured by Russia?

Probably one factor as to why the Russian military are able to capture so much foreign military equipment is because the Ukrainian military evacuate their positions under extremely chaotic conditions. The Russian assaults on Ukrainian positions are horrifying:
