Editor's note: What's the difference between US Senator Mitch O'Connell and ousted President Ali Bongo of Gabon? Outside of McConnell not being ousted, McConnell had a poor upbringing, spent his entire political career of 49-years working for a salary of no more than $174,000, and yet he has managed to amass a personal fortune in the tens of millions of dollars, according to Andrew Anglin in an article at Unz Review. Then there is the recently ousted President of Gabon Ali Bongo. French media highlighted the wealth accumulated by the Bongo family over its 56-year rule, drawing attention to the exiled president of Gabon's opulent possessions. According to The Daily, the value of Bongo's assets was incalculable but was estimated by a court ruling in 2022 to be about €85 million (about $92.4 million).
