Marine Links Honourable Artillery Bowman Targets to Candyman DMORT Sandy Hook Morgue

United States Marine Field McConnell has linked the Honourable Artillery Company’s deployment of Bowman radios for Surveillance and Target Acquisition to the Candyman deployment of a DMORT portable morgue to process dead children, targeted at the Sandy Hook crime scene.

“On December 14, 2012, Adam Lanza, age 20, fatally shot twenty children and six adult staff members and wounded two at Sandy Hook Elementary School in the Sandy Hook village of Newtown, Connecticut. Before driving to the school, Lanza had shot and killed his mother, Nancy Lanza, at their Newtown home. After killing the students and staff members, Lanza committed suicide by shooting himself in the head as first responders arrived.

The massacre was the second-deadliest school shooting in United States history, after the 2007 Virginia Tech massacre. It also is the second-deadliest mass murder at an American elementary school, after the 1927 Bath School bombings in Michigan. … Newtown police dispatch first requested officers on the scene at 9:35 a.m.[44] Connecticut State Police received the first call at 9:41 a.m.,[36] and with Newtown police, quickly mobilized local police dog and Police Tactical Units, a bomb squad, and a state police helicopter.[51]

Police locked down the school and began evacuating the survivors room-by-room, escorting groups of students and adults away from the school. They swept the school for additional shooters at least four times. No shots were fired by the authorities.[52]

At approximately 10:00 a.m., Danbury Hospital scrambled extra medical personnel in expectation of having to treat numerous victims. Three wounded patients were evacuated to the hospital, where two children were later declared dead.[53] The other was an unidentified adult. The New York City medical examiner dispatched a [Candyman DMORT Region II] portable morgue to assist with the aftermath.

The victims' bodies were removed from the school and formally identified during the night after the shooting. A state trooper was assigned to each victim's family to protect its privacy and provide it with information.

A large quantity of unused ammunition was recovered at the school, along with three semi-automatic firearms found with Adam Lanza: a .223-caliber Bushmaster XM-15 rifle, a 10mm Glock 20 SF handgun and a 9mm SIG Sauer handgun. A shotgun was found in the car Lanza had driven to the school.[62] At home, Lanza had access to three more firearms: a .45 Henry repeating rifle, a .30 Enfield rifle, and a .22 Marlin rifle.[13][63][64] Lanza used the .22 Marlin rifle to kill his mother, but did not take that weapon to the school.[65] The weapons were legally owned by Lanza's mother, who was a gun enthusiast. Police said Lanza used the Bushmaster rifle against most of the victims. According to the state's chief medical examiner, H. Wayne Carver, many of the victims were shot multiple times with the same "long weapon"—the Bushmaster rifle.[68][69][6] Under Connecticut law,[70] the 20-year-old Lanza was old enough to carry a long gun,[71] but too young to legally own or carry handguns. 

“What other countries need is the completion of a system so they can transmit data and obtain situational awareness and battle management tools. The challenge for us is to canvass the world and find out what their needs are and to tailor something to those needs,” he maintains. General Dynamics is in discussions with five potential customers who do not need the full “Bowman solution,” he relates. The United Kingdom and the United States are working together to create a network in which U.S., U.K. and coalition units will be able to share information and situational awareness as if they were the flanking formations of the same nation. Worrall explains that the joint program aims to model the Bowman waveform and algorithms on Joint Tactical Radio System (JTRS) radios so that future coalition operations between Bowman-equipped U.K. troops and JTRS-equipped U.S. forces have a secure voice and data radio capability in fixed-frequency and frequency-hopping modes. … The U.S. recently awarded ITT, manufacturer of both the HCDR and the advanced digital radio and VHF radios, or ADR + VHF, phase two of a contract to prepare the VHF waveform for testing before being accepted by the JTRS Joint Program Office waveform library. When complete, this work will enable a direct over-the-air voice and data interface between U.S. and U.K. forces using the Bowman VHF waveforms, up to and including communication in frequency-hopping mode. The Bowman waveform is to be included on the JTRS Cluster 1 radio under the current operational requirements document, but not on the Cluster 5 radio as it stands today.
