Editor's note: ...get you killed. Once these bureaucracies are activated like in the case of Flock cameras being used by police, you can't call the dogs off. Extrapolate this out a few years when these Flock cameras (and the street lights are next) are all operated using AI platforms with fully autonomous robots instead of police. The Flock camera is activated on a license plate but somewhere in the system an algorithm is tweaked wrong and people get killed by mistake. That would be a genuine Franz Kafka nightmare wouldn't it? This is the problem with human hubris, they think technology will save them "while the authorities forgot to remove an outdated alert."

Police shut down I-94, boxed in a silver SUV, and held two people at gun point after Flock cameras flagged the car as “connected to a homicide.”

Except it wasn’t.

The alert was outdated.
Authorities forgot to remove it.
