Editor's note: ...a last resort, but increasingly framed as a normal and plausible outcome of "current geopolitical competition." Alright then, let's get it on. Apparently, diplomacy is passé and marching toward war now counts as "strategic foresight." This means ordinary citizens might as well start preparing their lives, families, and economies for the consequences of an all-out war they neither voted for nor can control as Trump & Co. go for broke with an endless supply of money pushing for a $1.5 trillion war budget. Who is running this global shit hole anyway? This US general has been trained and educated in empire...the military is subordinate to finance capital. Are we being gaslit about war when global capital flows (stateless transnational capital) are all coordinated?
