by CULLEN MCCUE | November 6, 2022
Phoenix law enforcement responded to Arizona GOP gubernatorial candidate Kari Lake's campaign office on Saturday night after "suspicious items," including a white powdery substance and threatening messages, were received in the mail.
A spokesman for the Phoenix Police Department told Fox News that officers "responded to a found property call at an office building near 40th Street and Camelback Road."
"When officers arrived, they learned there were suspicious items located inside the mail," Phoenix police Sgt. Phil Krynsky," told the outlet. "Additional resources responded to collect the items and secure the area. There have been no reports of injury and the investigation remains active."
Local and federal law enforcement, including the FBI, were at one of Lake's campaign offices from 10 p.m. Saturday until 5 a.m. the following morning. Both a hazmat and bomb squad team were dispatched to the scene, while the suspicious white substance was collected by the FBI for analysis.
