Editor's note: Not sure what the high priest in the black robe here is trying to do, but that being the case, understand that the origin of life begins at fertilization.

Last month, a new law was passed in Texas that banned abortions after six weeks of pregnancy.

This meant that millions of women in Texas were prohibited from getting abortions, a decision that has been heavily objected.

Uproar over the new law has been flooding social media for weeks, and many have been campaigning to get it revoked.

This week, the state's six-week abortion ban has finally been temporarily blocked, and we have Judge Robert Pitman to thank for it.

WHO IS ROBERT PITMAN?

Robert L. Pitman is an American attorney and judge in Texas.

He currently serves as a district judge at the United States District Court for the Western District of Texas.

Born in Texas in 1962, the 59-year-old gained a degree from Abilene Christian University before gaining his Juris Doctor from the University of Texas School of Law.

He later got a postgraduate degree in Human Rights Law from the University of Oxford, England.

Robert is gay, and despite facing opposition, became the first openly gay judge to sit on the federal bench in the Fifth Circuit of the federal court system, which includes Texas, Louisiana and Mississippi.
