Iran reportedly bought or accessed this data, combined with mobile network pings and OSINT (open source intelligence) from videos/posts (metadata + visuals). This revealed troop/base positions for targeting with BDS-guided missiles. Were the two US soldiers killed in Jordan after their location was identified off their smart phone? Technology is a two-edged sword.
