A former Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) operative...

Editor's note: ...Mohamad Faridi, now a Christian leader, discusses below the Islamo-communism alliance between far-left communists and Islamists. In an interview with Alex Newman of The New American, Faridi traces the partnership back to early Soviet leaders like Lenin and Stalin, who allegedly used Muslim jihadis to intimidate opponents and consolidate control. He points to modern examples including Iran's close ties with China's communist regime and the election of New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani, whom the piece labels an Islamic-socialist figure, as evidence of this "Red-Green" (the Islamo-Marxists) axis operating in the West. Faridi argues that Islamists and communists view each other as temporary tools in a shared fight against Christianity, liberty, and Western values, while warning of jihadist sleeper cells already present in the United States and stressing that the Iranian regime must be confronted to stop the spread of international terror.

Islamo-communism: Former IRGC soldier explains why communists and Islamists are working together

By Rhoda Wilson | July 24, 2026

The Islamo-communism phenomenon, a toxic mixture of the political hard/far left and Islamism, has raised its ugly head in many Western countries in recent years. In America, for example, the Democratic Party has been taken over by Islamists, a former Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (“IRGC”) operative told Alex Newman.

The alliance between communists and Islam dates back a long time, to the early days of communism. In the Soviet Union, Vladimir Lenin and Josef Stalin conceived the idea. Whenever they wanted to attack the opposition and cause fear to bring a region under control, they would unleash the jihadi of Muslims.

Why Are Communists and Islamists Working Together? Former Iranian Soldier Explains

By Liberty Sentinel | July 23, 2026

The "Red-Green" Axis is very real, with communists and jihadists thinking that they are using each other in the war against Christianity, liberty and the West, explained former Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps operative turned Christian leader Mohamad Faridi in this interview on Conversations That Matter with The New American magazine's Alex Newman.

The alliance between communists and Islamists can be seen clearly in geopolitics with, for instance, the Iranian regime's very close relationship with the mass-murdering dictatorship ruling mainland China. Even within the United States, the Red-Green alliance can be seen in the victory of Islamic-Socialist New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani.

Faridi explained that this "enemy" needs to be dealt with, including the sleeper-cell jihadist operatives already in the United States waiting to strike. They also have assassins in the West. And even if the "tentacles" of Hamas, Houthi militias, Hezbollah and others are cut off or injured, as long as the regime in Tehran is not dealt with, it will continue to spread terror internationally.

Much of this is grounded in Islamic theology. According to Faridi, a former devout Muslim who met Christians, Muslims are commanded to make war on infidels everywhere. Muslims, he said, must be reached with the truth, but Islam as a system and ideology must be dealt with forcefully.
