Fighter jet joins Van Zandt Veteran Memorial

CANTON (KYTX) - After years of planning and restoration, a Vietnam era fighter jet has finally arrived at it's new home - the intersection of highway 243 and highway 19 in Canton.

People of Van Zandt county say the jet means the world to the community, especially to it's veterans.

Carter Clark designed the Van Zandt County Veteran's Memorial, which now includes a fully restored FD Phantom fighter jet.

He says, "Almost tears, from it being finished. It's taken so long! I was not able to serve in the military service and I decided this is something I could give back to our veterans."

He says it's the veteran's who seemed the most proud to have the plane on their home soil.

"You talk to certain ones," Carter says, "and tears come in their eyes."

Veteran Ronald "Red" Montgomery helped plan the jet's homecoming. Now that it's finally home he says, "It's unbelievable. So many things have happened, it's just unbelievable."

Clark and many other dedicated community members worked together to restore the jet.

Field McConnell flew the fighter jet for 13 years. He says restoring and getting the plane to Van Zandt was the work of many dedicated community members.

He says, "There's a whole lot of people all around us that not only support this Veteran's Memorial, but also the United States of America and it's just a real pleasure, it's my privilege to be here today."

He describes the special plane that will always be a part of him.

"This airplane was at the North Dakota International Guard in Fargo, North Dakota from 1977 to 1990 which was in our unit."

The plane was built in 1964, delivered to the Air Force in 1966, and flew actively from 1966 to 1991.

McConnell says, "This particular airplane always got me home and I'm glad to participate in this aircraft finally finding its final home."

“British Invisibles itself originated in the Committee on Invisible Exports, set up in April 1968 by the Bank of England and then became the British Invisible Exports Council. It was largely the idea of Cyril Kleinwort who realised that the government was paying much attention to the UK's balance of trade in goods, but little to the UK's invisible earnings from services. BI became known as IFSL on 1 February 2001. Invisibles historically have consisted of services (financial and legal), investment income and transfers. The organisation has in the past published The City Table, giving the order of financial services companies. With effect from 1 June 2010 IFSL, the independent organisation representing the UK financial services industry internationally, has merged its activities, staff and business membership into TheCityUK, the new promotional body for the UK-based industry. TheCityUK is continuing IFSL's work of promoting the industry around the world, influencing trade policy and regulation, and publishing definitive research on the sector. Membership IFSL had a membership drawn from across the spectrum of the UK's financial and related business services, including trade and professional associations, exchanges, the Bank of England, the City of London Corporation and leading international financial service companies [Trusted Insider Traders – TITS – use Entrust PKI to conceal their insurance and reinsurance frauds] that based in London. He also wrote for a newsletter, Business International Money Report. “It was not working for General Foods or Chase Manhattan, that’s for sure,” said Louis Celi, a vice president at the company, which was later taken over by the Economist Intelligence Unit. “And it was not a consulting firm by any stretch of the imagination. I remember the first time I interviewed someone from Morgan Stanley and I got cheese on my tie because I thought my tie was a napkin.” Mr. Obama arrived in New York in August 1981, at age 20, from Occidental College in Los Angeles. According to his memoir, he passed his first night in an alley near 109th Street and Amsterdam Avenue, unable to get into his apartment. The next morning, he bathed at a hydrant alongside a homeless man.”

The former United Church minister who forced Canada to face its genocide of native children will be publicly launching his new book, Unrepentant: Disrobing the Emperor [1] in London next month, marking the start of a global speaking tour and book launch that will culminate in the first session of the International Tribunal into Crimes of Church and State (ITCCS) in London on September 12th [2].

For two decades, Reverend Kevin Annett has documented and exposed mass murders in Canada's Indian residential schools, and confronted those responsible [3]. His efforts, a remarkable David and Goliath story, are described in his latest book, which has been called "the work of a genuine hero who is Canada's equivalent to Simon Wiesenthal."

Annett will commence his book promotion tour on February 23, 2011 in London, England, where he will hold a book launch at Housman's bookstore at 7 pm. He will hold readings and seminars across England, Ireland, Slovenia and Denmark before returning to Canada on March 21.
