The Japanese and Their Rituals

Editor's note: The only ones in Japan who attended Abe Shinzo's state funeral that cost over $12 million were the upper class elite of Japan's society and around 4,200 foreign dignitaries. The foreign dignitaries all flew in on aircraft perhaps some in their private jets. In addition, taxis and local transportation were used to get around Tokyo on their way to the ritual. In 2014, Abe Shinzo announced his concept of a "Cool Earth", and proposed to set a goal of reducing global greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by 50% by the year 2050 as a global target. What a concept. In addition, in 2013 he presented a new strategy called "Actions for Cool Earth." Well, it was a pretty cool looking ritual we see from the clip below. Millions of Japanese could care less about climate change let alone Abe Shinzo's death. For many who know what Abe has been up to it's good riddance. Most Japanese were opposed to the state funeral as evidenced in polls and large demonstrations. The political elite leadership class in Japan pulled off the funeral any way. They're in power.
