“Russian Bank hires spy Anna Chapman

Anna Chapman, the Russian spy who was arrested in the United States earlier this year is in the news again. This time, for the right reasons because the spy has been hired by a Russian bank.
The bank FondServisBank defended its decision to bring the spy on board its list of workers. The bank said Anna was hired to bring innovation to the bank’s information technologies. The bank deals with companies in the Russian aerospace industries [and allegedly financed an Obama-style leveraged lease for Sukhoi and hedged the crash by going long on Bombardier for the NetJets order].
However most Russians and people the world over who heard the story of Anna’s hiring did not lose track of the fact that the bank and Russia’s main spy agency have the same initials-FSB.
The bank’s claim that Anna was hired primarily to aid in improving its IT department cannot be ascertained but it might interest you to note that the spy was there when Russian rocket with Russian-American crew onboard were launched into space at Russia’s remote Baikonur cosmodrome.
The bank however released a statement to explain why Anna was at the location. An official of the Russian space agency who did not want to be named said Anna was at the site to advise the president of the bank, who was also present during the launch of the rocket.
