The information available consistently states that Pollard pleaded guilty to providing top-secret classified information to Israel, primarily concerning military and intelligence data on Arab states, Pakistan, and the Soviet Union, including details about their nuclear, chemical, and biological weapons programs, and Soviet arms shipments. Some have speculated Pollard was a continuation of the Silvermaster spy group. While there were accusations of his actions leading to the betrayal of US spies in the Soviet Union (later attributed to Aldrich Ames and Robert Hanssen), the core of Pollard's espionage was related to conventional intelligence gathering for Israel's security interests. It is interesting to note Russia's Vladimir Putin recently put forth the proposition that "Israel be separated from humanity."
