LOCK HER UP

In the end, the presidential race between Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton was decided not by the multiple women who showed up at the third debate claiming that Bill Clinton had sexually assaulted them, or by the women who came forward late to claim that Trump had groped them – even though they could not remember the date, time, or place that these alleged incidents had taken place. By the time this charge and countercharge had played out, the election process, stumbling towards completion, was hit by a bombshell with future implications.

The New York Police Department, in their investigation into potential sex crimes with minors involving Congressman Anthony Weiner, learned that Weiner and his wife, Clinton henchwoman Huma Abedin, had amassed a trove of over 650,000 emails, most of which had been forwarded from the White House. The NYPD thoughtfully supplied a full copy of the email files to several members of Congress before sending a copy of them to the FBI.

It was the existence of these emails, plus secret testimony to the FBI about a Clinton Foundation shakedown in which the Clintons had extorted 2 million dollars from the nation of Serbia for a meeting with President Barack Obama, that caused FBI Director James Comey to announce that he was reopening Hillary's email investigation.

This announcement merely accelerated the surge Donald Trump was experiencing in the closing days of the race, where reliable polling showed him closing the gap in virtually every state he was behind in, while maintaining comfortable leads in Ohio and Florida.

Although it took Comey's FBI over two years to review 33,000 emails originally deleted from Hillary Clinton's home-brew email server, Comey announced on the day before the election that the Bureau had reviewed the 650,000 emails in just a few days and had determined that there was no evidence of crime or impropriety within them. This, however, failed to break Trump's momentum, as Mr. Comey had burned out his credibility with the American public based on the long list of particulars he had laid out about Hillary's email server only to reach the conclusion that she would not be prosecuted for crimes that were both obvious and provable.

Metaphorically, the Huma–Weiner emails are like Nixon's Watergate tapes. They are indelible. They are damning, and their content cannot be contained because too many people have full copies. My sources tell me that the files include evidence of treason, self-dealing pay for play, corruption, sexual exploitation of children, and far more detail on the Clintons' sordid relationship with the billionaire pedophile Jeffrey Epstein.

Now that Trump has been elected, there is much pressure on him to back off his pledge in the second debate to ensure that Hillary and her husband are prosecuted for the multiple crimes they have committed while in government. Some in the Republican establishment are calling on Trump to give the Clintons a pass, in the interest of healing the country after a divisive election. Failure to turn in all evidence regarding the Clintons' corruption at the Clinton Foundation, the Clinton Global Initiative, and in their personal financial dealings should be reviewed by a special prosecutor appointed by Trump's Attorney General.

Either we are a nation of laws or a nation of men. The failure to prosecute the Clintons would be yet another example of elite deviance – a phenomenon under which some people are so connected, so powerful, or so wealthy that the law does not apply to them.

President-elect Trump will lose substantial credibility and support among his base of voters if he gives in to the siren songs of Washington telling him the Clintons should cop a walk.
