The Minnesota fraud scandal shows...

Editor's note: ...how billions in taxpayer money can be siphoned off through weak oversight, political negligence, and a revolving door of contractors and nonprofits, while ordinary Americans are told to pay more, comply more, and ask fewer questions. When massive fraud goes undetected like a "Trojan Horse" for years and accountability comes only after the damage is done, it exposes a system that punishes taxpayers while rewarding institutional failure. Americans are outraged (also see Taxpayer Outrage Grows: All This Fraud 'Is Boiling My Blood': Matt Van Swol) because their taxes are being squandered, they're angry because their money is taken under threat of law and then casually thrown away, looted, or ignored by the very authorities (like Nancy Pelosi) sworn to protect it. All this while the people and businesses in California are having the shit taxed out of them.
