Speaking to Israeli journalist Barak Ravid during an interview for his recently-released book, Trump’s Peace, Mr Trump's comments came immediately after he told Ravid that there are "people in this country that are Jewish" who "no longer love Israel" as much as "the evangelical Christians" (whose support for the Jewish state stems from passages in the New Testament that say Jews returning to what is now Israel is a precondition for the end of the world).
"It used to be that Israel had absolute power over Congress. And today, I think it's the exact opposite," Mr Trump said. "And I think Obama and Biden did that".
Continuing, the former president lamented that Messrs Obama and Biden got "a lot of votes from Jewish people," and said Jewish-Americans' voting pattern "tells you that … the Jewish people in the United States, either don't like Israel or don't care about Israel".
Mr Trump closed his remarks by complaining that The New York Times "hates Israel" even though "the Jewish people" run it, which was a reference to the Sulzberger family, the paper's long-time owners.
The former president's comments are reminiscent of antisemitic tropes which promote the false belief that Jews hold outsized political power across the world.

Former president Donald Trump has said that the State of Israel once had "absolute power" over the US congress but no longer does because of former president Barack Obama and President Joe Biden.

Editor's note: Here is a problem with President Trump's recent assertion "Israel once had absolute power over the US congress." Back in July, 2021 Israel's 10th President Reuven Rivlin visited the White House during his final days as president of Israel accompanied by his chief of staff and bureau chief Rivka Ravitz. It was stated President Biden kneeled in front of Ravitz when she told President Biden she had 12 children. Who can explain Biden's reaction by kneeling? If this was the case, why allow an image of Biden kneeling in front of Rivka Ravitz and Reuven Rivlin to be released to the public knowing full well what the potential interpretations would be? Such reverence for a mother of 12 when in America families are under increasing attack? What kind of diplomacy is kneeling? It is not only unprofessional and demeaning, it is embarrassing. Has Biden ever gone to the knee for an American mother who has raised a large family? Why take the knee for an Israeli mother? How are we to interpret Biden's comments years ago as a senator when he said "he was a Zionist."
Try interpreting the meaning here. Do Biden's positions on Israel still stand today including "Israel being America's single greatest friend in the Middle East?" The problem here is that Jonathan Pollard was feeding that pillaged intelligence to the Soviets in return for passports for Jews to head to Israel from the Soviet Union. And of course Israel was the partial creation of the Soviet Union under Joseph Stalin used to backdoor America. In America, it is the Christian Zionists who are largely responsible for driving Jews in America to return to Israel. Zio-supremacists want "the Jews" to be forced to make aliyuck to the chosen land, to establish a new military imperial power. Leave American Jews alone. All they want is to be left alone to go on with their lives.

Don't leave the UK out of this discussion. Israel is "Britain's forward fire base in the Middle East" and the Israeli lobby in the UK is likely far more powerful and influential than it is in the US.
If anyone has been wondering what the real issue is under the surface going on in Ukraine, it is related to Israel. Consider Biden's relation to Ukraine when you factor this into any analysis.
Are Jews now going to become the saviors of American democracy?
Where are Trump's marching orders on the Jewish lobby in the US coming from?
