Flashback: Bolivia's President Declares 'Total Independence' from World Bank and IMF

Source: American Herald Tribune

July 23, 2017 | By Aht Staff

Bolivia's President Evo Morales has been highlighting his government's independence from international money lending organizations and their detrimental impact the nation, the Telesur TV reported.

"A day like today in 1944 ended Bretton Woods Economic Conference (USA), in which the IMF and WB were established," Morales tweeted. "These organizations dictated the economic fate of Bolivia and the world. Today we can say that we have total independence of them."

Morales has said Bolivia's past dependence on the agencies was so great that the International Monetary Fund had an office in government headquarters and even participated in their meetings.

Bolivia is now in the process of becoming a member of the Southern Common Market, Mercosur and Morales attended the group's summit in Argentina last week.

Bolivia’s popular uprising known as the The Cochabamba Water War in 2000 against United States-based Bechtel Corporation over water privatization and the associated World Bank policies shed light on some of the debt issues facing the region.

Some of Bolivia's largest resistance struggles in the last 60 years have targeted the economic policies carried out by the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank.

Most of the protests focused on opposing privatization policies and austerity measures, including cuts to public services, privatization decrees, wage reductions, as well the weakening of labor rights.

Since 2006, a year after Morales came to power, social spending on health, education, and poverty programs has increased by over 45 percent.

Resignation of Bolivia's Evo Morales was no victory for democracy, but a US-sponsored coup

By Eva Bartlett | 11 Nov, 2019

Evo Morales, an indigenous leader who bucked the IMF and condemned US imperialism, has been pressured by the military to resign after winning an election. Yet Washington calls this blatant coup in Bolivia a victory for democracy?

Morales was re-elected as Bolivia's president on October 20. The coup-backing Organization of American States (OAS) wasn't pleased and went ahead interfering in a sovereign nation – as the US itself does so well – issuing a report stating that there were "clear manipulations" of the voting process. The heavy funding from the US surely has no influence on OAS policies…
In any case, on November 10, President Morales first announced a new election. Later that day, he announced his resignation, naming as reason the recent brutality of Bolivia's right-wing opposition, including "kidnapping and mistreating" families of indigenous leaders and burning down the homes of public officials.

I resign from my position as president so that (Carlos) Mesa and (Luis Fernando) Camacho do not continue to persecute socialist leaders.

Morales was clear that his move was solely due to the violence incited opposition leaders. However, Morales, as well as many other politicians and commentators, described what happened as a "military coup."

Former Brazilian president Dilma Rousseff tweeted her solidarity with the "legitimate president of Bolivia [Evo Morales] who was deposed by a military coup, had his house raided by the police and suffered an illegal arrest warrant. A very serious attack on democracy in Latin America and violence against the Bolivian people."

Another Brazilian ex-president, Lula, likewise declared the "stepping down" a coup. And even before the events of November 10, Argentina's Cristina Kirchner foresaw there would be pressure to force Morales out of office, as did Venezuela’s President Nicolás Maduro.
As most readers know, this is not the first US-backed coup in Latin America. Washington's history of meddling in sovereign nations stretching back many decades. But let's look at how Bolivia changed under Morales' leadership.

Poverty, unemployment and illiteracy all decreased significantly under Morales. In fact, according to a report by the Center for Economic and Policy Research (CEPR), Bolivia's was the "fastest-growing" economy in South America, having "basically been stagnant for a quarter century prior to Morales becoming president in 2006."

'Viva Morales': Massive march in Buenos Aires mobilizes against coup in Bolivia

Tue, 12 Nov 2019

The Bolivian community's massive march in Buenos Aires.

"We will return better, we will fight, we will win and we will return. Long live Evo Morales Ayma," Bolivians living in Argentina chanted in unison.

Thousands of demonstrators marched Tuesday along the main avenue in Argentina's capital to reach the Bolivian Embassy in Buenos Aires, condemning the coup that Bolivia is going through and offering full support to the legitimate president Evo Morales.

A prominent figure of the Bolivian community in that country Iber Mamani thanked the "support offered by the social and political organizations of the popular Argentinian countryside that pronounced themselves against the coup," and demanded the protection of "the lives of the comrades who today are being persecuted, kidnapped and tortured." The leader of the MST Vilma Ripoll also present at the march, expressed the her "rejection to the coup carried out by the big bosses, the corporations and the armed forces, and endorsed by politicians like Mauricio Macri who until now has not declared anything about it."

In dialogue with Pagina 12, Ripoll added that Evo Morales "had pending tasks in Bolivia, such as the purging of the armed forces."

"We are here to repudiate what has no other qualification than a coup. We are very concerned about Evo's physical integrity, as well as the threat to the region. We have to remember and prevent the return of coups in Latin America," Argentinian Frente de Todos lawmaker Itai Hagman said amid flags and traditional Bolivian dances.

"Jallalla Evo Morales" was the expression most repeated by the Bolivian community installed at the door of the Bolivian Embassy in Argentina, a Quechua Aymara expression that symbolizes the unity of the people, their sense of belonging.

"We will return better, we will fight, we will win and we will return. Long live Evo Morales Ayma," Bolivians living in Argentina chanted in unison.

Morales was forced to resign Sunday after senior army and police chiefs called on him to do so following weeks of right-wing unrest and violence against his Oct. 20 elections victory, in what his government has called a coup by opposition forces in the country.

NEW INFO: Morales ousted 1 week after he said NO to foreign corporations and Bolivian lithium

I gotta say, there was NOTHING going on in Bolivia as far as I knew, and then one day, POOF, Morales was gone. How about that? Come on now, let's ask a question here:

Did you hear any news of protests against the Bolivian president running up to his ouster, or was it, for you, just news of POOF, HE'S GONE?

Even in Mexico I never heard of it. As far as I knew, Bolivia was cruising along happy, and then suddenly there were rebels who ousted Morales. "Rebels" wearing the same getup as the blackwater goons who actually did the Boston bombing, skull and all. ONE WEEK after Morales said "no" to the lithium, we'll mine it ourselves and sell it to you. How about that!

"Coincidence" can really be revealing, can't it?

That said, most likely the NSA had intelligence on Morales discussing the move ahead of time, gave out the proper notifications, and then, on cue, already staged, Blackwater pounced. A good theory that probably has no "conspiracy" in it at all.

OK, I AM CALLING IT: BOLIVIAN PRESIDENT NOT OUSTED BY LOCALS, BLACKWATER WAS USED

The four countries that refused to allow Morales to use their airspace are also owned by troll governments. Morales got asylum in Mexico

HERE IS ALL THE PROOF NEEDED TO KNOW MORALES GOT OUSTED BY EITHER THE U.S. OR SOMEONE ELSE WHO PAID OFF BLACKWATER TO DO IT.

Here is a capture from a press meeting with the "rebels" afterward. Sometimes, it only takes two pictures to tell the whole story, Morales was not ousted by "rebels", no, they were PAID MERCENARIES. So who paid these mercenaries? Whoever it is, is REALLY BIG, big enough to convince 4 countries to deny him the use of their airspace as he fled. WHO WOULD THAT BE?

Remember the Boston Marathon gang? Here is the OTHER half of this report!

Gee, the "rebels" in Bolivia are dressed an awful lot like the guys who did the Boston Marathon bombing! CAN YOU SAY BLACKWATER???

EVO MORALES UPDATE:

As it turns out, there's more to the story than lithium, Evo Morales successfully pulled Bolivia away from the IMF and set up a central bank that was independent of the Jewish run banks. He then secured the nation's resources and set a plan for Bolivian prosperity based on mining and exporting. The tribe did not want a financially independent Inca king running ANY nation, so obviously that's why the coup was staged, and why Blackwater was contracted to do it.

The Bolivian people LOVED Evo Morales, and then this.

PREDICTION:

Obrador who is basically un-corruptible gave shelter to Morales. Now Morales is communicating with Obrador, and telling him all about how evil these F***S are. What's the outcome likely to be? I'd say Obrador is extremely likely to attempt to move Mexico into a position of less influence from outside forces. He's going to meet some resistance from within, but not at the same level Trump has. This will be a real "wait and see".

Rumor has it abroad that Obrador is "corrupt" and a "sellout to the cartels". I'll say it straight: Obrador is NOT CORRUPTIBLE, and if any mistakes are made, they are errors and part of learning, NOT CORRUPTION. He's the first great president Mexico has had in DECADES. At least 50 years.

I am actually very surprised at how well Obrador has held it all together. The entire foreign and local elite criminal establishment hates his guts and though Mexico has been impacted by that, Obrador has really seriously kept the impact minimized, like a total ace. Quite remarkable I'd say. He might be better at his job than even Trump.

News update for 9 December 2019: Evo Morales Claims 'Zionist' Conspiracy Between Bolivia's Conservatives, Israel

US multinationals want Bolivia's lithium resources. That's not going to work too well for the IMF and  the World Bank that Bolivia's President Evo Morales (ex-president) kicked out of Bolivia. The other reason of course is that US multinationals do not want either Russia or China to have access to Bolivia's lithium resources.

After Evo, the Lithium Question Looms Large in Bolivia
