The gravy train - 'global warming' conveyor belt - Oxford ideas: rhetorical dead ends - Cecil Rhodes would be proud

"Wherever you turn your eye—except in science—an Oxford man is at the top of the tree". -- Cecil Rhodes

“We must find new lands from which we can easily obtain raw materials and at the same time exploit the cheap slave labor that is available from the natives of the colonies. The colonies would also provide a dumping ground for the surplus goods produced in our factories.”-- Cecil Rhodes

Part I: The High Speed Conveyor Belt of Global Warming

Looking back over the past thirty years tracing back some of the origins of global warming leads one to the door step of Ten Downing Street, London and Margaret Thatcher. Sir Crispin Tickell, UK Ambassador to the UN (environmentalist and academic; he went to Christ Church, Oxford, graduating in 1952 with first class honours in Modern History) , suggested a solution to the problem of politicians not having 'scientific credibility' by pointing out that almost all international statesmen [salesmen for 'global warming' and eventually linking climate change to the insurance industry based out of the City of London] are scientifically illiterate, so a scientifically literate politician could win any summit debate on a matter which seemed to depend on scientific understandings.

Mrs Thatcher studied crystallography receiving a postgraduate BSc degree in 1947. (This is probably the most important fact in the entire global warming issue; i.e. Mrs Thatcher had a BSc degree in crystallography and later was a research chemist for BX Plastics). Sir Crispin pointed out that if a ‘scientific’ issue were to gain international significance, then the UK’s Prime Minister could easily take a prominent role, and this could provide credibility for her views on other world affairs. And so it all began, Britain kicked off 'global warming' by giving the issue credibility through the Prime Minister of Britain, Margaret Thatcher.

To understand the history of 'global warming' [euphemism for gradual economic destruction] it is important to zero in on the 'history' of Sir Crispin Tickell who has had a huge impact on the thinking of successive British Prime Ministers on the entire 'global warming' controversy. Sir Crispin Tickkell is the Director of the Policy Foresight Programme, James Martin Institute for Science and Civilization, Oxford University; Sir Crispin offers his remarks concerning why he became a prime mover in the entire global warming controversy:
"It was through study of history that I first became aware of the impacts of climate change on civilization. It came as a shock to realize how rapid such change had been, and could be in the future. This led to my book on Climatic Change and World Affairs in 1977, and my role since then as an advisor to successive British Prime Ministers. The problems have now greatly increased, and the world is better aware of them. We are now struggling to mitigate the effects and adapt ourselves to them. Hence the Copenhagen Climate Council."
What is interesting to note about the Copenhagen Climate Council is that its founder, Erik Rasmussan (CEO), connections are listed as a 'business' no matter what comes up about information on the Copenhagen Climate Council when a Google search is done. So clearly, these people, despite their public appeals for humanitarian causes related to the environment and controlling 'global warming', inevitably always have a business component attached. And isn't this an Oxford specialty, Cecil Rhodes was correct, "an Oxford man will be at the top of any tree - except science"; the business component to corporatize for monetary gain, i.e., Chicago Climate Exchange, its European counter-part, Canter Fitzgerald/espeed, carbon emissions trading?

Sir Crispin Tickell was born in 1930. A former member of the British Diplomatic Service, Sir Crispin served as the Chef de Cabinet to the President of the European Commission from 1977 to 1981. He then became the British Ambassador to Mexico from 1981-1983. Subsequently he served as the Deputy Under-Secretary of State (Economic) in the British Foreign and Commonwealth Office from 1983-84 and then as Permanent Secretary in the Overseas Development Administration (ODA) from 1984-1987. From 1987 to 1990 Sir Crispin was the British Permanent Representative to the United Nations and Permanent Representative on the UN Security Council. He is associated with other British universities as well as universities [Harvard] in the United States. His main interests are in the field of the environment and international affairs.

Sir Crispin Tickell suggested that Margaret Thatcher ['Milk Snatcher Thatcher’] should campaign about global warming at each summit meeting; and in fact, at summit meetings politicians were known for being aggravated about Margaret Thatcher ranting on about global warming which civil servants in attendance at these summits became alerted to. She campaigned on, and the tactic worked with much coaching from Oxford's Sir Crispin Tickell. Mrs. Thatcher rapidly gained the desired international respect and the UK became the prime promoter of the global warming issue, the rest is history; the kind of 'history' Sir Crispin Ticksell likes. The influences that enabled this are described below in this chart and how 'global warming' radiated out effecting nuclear weapons production, economics, banking, finance and most importantly a coming carbon tax.

Influences leading to UK imagined risk of global warming

Early in Margaret Thatcher's sales career, sorry, I mean, global warming campaign - and at her personal instigation - the UK’s Hadley Centre for Climate Prediction and Research was established, and the science and engineering research councils were encouraged to place priority in funding climate-related research. That's right, folks, if you have been paying attention to Abel Danger; that would be the MET Office. The MET Office don't forget, came under management of the Ministry of Defense. In 1996 the Met Office became a Trading Fund within the Ministry of Defence. As a Trading Fund the MET are required to operate on a commercial basis and meet agreed [why do I think of 'greed performance' instead?] performance targets as set by their ministerial owner. 'Ministerial owner? Who might that be? The Under Secretary of State for Defence and the Minister for Veterans is the individual charged with directing and overseeing the Met Office on behalf of the Secretary of State for Defence.

The ultimate responsibility and accountability lies with the Secretary of State for Defence, currently Dr Liam Fox. Interesting, he was a member of the Dialectic Society and became president of the Glasgow University Conservative Association. Imagine attempting a dialogue or even a debate about global warming with Dr. Liam Fox? What this means essentially is, the 'global warming' hierarchy of political power have financially weaponized the weather; it refers to making 'investment decisions' concerning the MET Office on their web site. Kind of makes me wonder what type of investments Sir Crispin Tickell holds?

But now that Hadley Centre sustained its importance it is now the operating agency for Dr Rajendra K Pachauri IPCC’s scientific working group. Welcome to the global warming gravy train, Raiendra.

Not that Raiendra Pachauri is too concerned about the science, but most scientists’ work depends on funds fully or partly provided by governments. The biggest benefactor of science are governments; control both and you're on the gravy train to 'global warming' riches. Also keep in mind, all scientists compete to obtain their share of this limited resource (money).

Available research funds were shrinking at the time Mrs, Thatcher was coming on board with 'global warming' just at the moment global warming had become the ‘scientific’ subject of intense interest to governments. Therefore, any case for funding support tended to include reference to global warming whenever possible; milking the gravy train for everything it was worth. If you're a scientist and there is no grant money, eating out at nice restaurants would definitely not be on Friday nights calendar. As is a apparent by now, or it is hoped it would be, is that a lot of science in many fields may be conducted under the guise of a relationship to global warming. Activities which have obtained funds by this method include biology, meteorology (MET Office), computer science, physics, chemistry, climatology, oceanography, civil engineering, process engineering, forestry, astronomy, and several other disciplines. Now, funds for this work are provided to most UK Universities and several commercial research establishments.

As Americans, it should be apparent by now that a little creativity and imagination is required to get us off this high speed conveyor belt, and remember, the British may not, but...
