Dear Lord Pearson:

Mrs. Clegg’s Tracking Chips in al-Qaeda Supply Chains

Hawks CAFE asks you to investigate Mrs. Clegg’s work at the Foreign Office and the DLA Piper law firm where she appears to have procured RFID tracking chips for al-Qaeda supply chains used by Legal Sector Alliance members in the carbon-offset trade. http://www.legalsectoralliance.com/about/members

“Is Osama Bin Laden going ‘green’? Mickey Glantz, 1 February 2010 Associated Press writers (Keath and Nasrawi) reported that Osama bin Laden, the al-Qaida leader, blamed the United States and other industrialized nations for climate change and said the only way to prevent disaster was to break the American economy, calling on the world to boycott U.S. goods and stop using the dollar. The AP writers suggested that bin-Laden’s message on climate change was designed to show the world that he and the movement he started were focused only on one issue: destroying America. “The effects of global warming have touched every continent. Drought and deserts are spreading, while the other floods and hurricanes unseen before the previous decades have now become frequent,” bin Laden said in his most recent audio recording, aired on the Arab TV network Al-Jazeera. The terror leader noted Washington’s rejection of the Kyoto Protocol aimed at reducing greenhouse gases and painted the United States as in the thrall of major corporations that he said “are the true criminals against the global climate” and are to blame for the global economic crisis, driving “tens of millions into poverty and unemployment.” Well, we know that bin Laden does not like the United States and would like to see it pay for all the damages worldwide resulting from its greenhouse gas emissions.”

“Apr 25, 2010 - 10:50 AM Spanish national right wing newspaper, La Razón, has carried out an interview with Míriam González, the Spanish lawyer wife of the British Liberal Democrat leader Nick Clegg. She tells the paper that the two party system should be done away with in Britain .. She met Nick Clegg in Bruges at the start of the 90’s where both were on post-graduate courses. The couple originally communicated in ‘schoolboy’s French’ . Born in Valladolid in May 1968, she grew up in Olmedo. She worked with Chris Patten when he was European Foreign Affairs Commissioner, and then Nick Clegg was an MEP. She worked briefly in the Foreign Office in London, and is now a partner of the international law firm DLA Piper .. Míriam González father, José Antonio González Caviedes, was Mayor of Olmedo, and also a Partido Popular senator. He died in a traffic accident in 1996.”

“[BBC World Service] Tuesday, 18 December 2007. According to The Times, raven-haired Ms Gonzalez Durantez, 39, left the civil service a year ago to become head of the international trade practice for multinational law firm DLA Piper. Paternity leave .. She had been an expert on the Middle East peace process at the Foreign Office. She has also worked in Brussels for Chris Patten, then a European Commissioner and his successor Ferrero Waldner .. By keeping her own name, rather than taking her husband's, Ms Gonzalez Durantez seems to be following in the footsteps of Tony Blair's wife Cherie, who used the moniker Booth whenever she was working.”

“In 2004, Boeing integrated the use of RFID technology to help reduce maintenance and inventory costs on the Boeing 787 Dreamliner. With the high costs of aircraft parts, RFID technology allowed Boeing to keep track of inventory despite the unique sizes, shapes and environmental concerns. During the first six months after integration, the company was able to save $29,000 in labor alone. Wal-Mart and the United States Department of Defense have published requirements that their vendors place RFID tags on all shipments to improve supply chain management. Due to the size of these two organizations, their RFID mandates impact thousands of companies worldwide. The deadlines have been extended several times because many vendors face significant difficulties implementing RFID systems. In practice, the successful read rates currently run only 80%, due to radio wave attenuation caused by the products and packaging. In time it is expected that even small companies will be able to place RFID tags on their outbound shipments.”
